Hello hello lovely readers, and welcome to Part #2 in the ‘Author Confessions‘ series.
It’s been a while between posts, but such is life when you’ve got a book nearly out in the world…
For today’s confession, I wanted to share how I’m feeling about my impending book release. I’d like to think these feelings are probably felt by new authors all around the world at a time like this…
1. Am I forgetting something?
Without a doubt, the biggest feeling I’ve got right now is that feeling you have right before you jet off on a big trip…
I’m absolutely paranoid that I’ve forgotten something vital.
I’ve got lists upon lists, calendar reminders and schedules and yet still… I can’t shake the feeling I’ve forgotten or missed something.
To be honest, I think deep down I know that this is normal (it has to be, right?)… But I’ll keep you guys posted.
2. Impatience
The writing, the editing, the production and the marketing of Heart of Mist has been nearly two years in the making now.
So it’s safe to say that I’m ready for this thing to be over and done with, so I can move on to the next stage of the journey.
Book II is calling to me guys!
3. Sheer terror
Yep, you read that right. Part of me is absolutely terrified to launch this book. It’s putting years of hard work, not to mention hopes and dreams out there…
I have to keep telling myself that this is the first launch of many, and that it won’t be perfect, but it’ll be an incredible learning experience.
From here, each launch will get better and better…
And speaking of the launch, if you’re based in Sydney, why not come along to Better Read Than Dead in Newtown? There’ll be bubbly and cupcakes for all!
Be sure to RSVP here.
